Apologies for the Sunday email, but Friday was a busy one in choir manager land!

Camp Pringle January 2026!

Our bi-annual rehearsal retreat at Camp Pringle in Shawnigan Lake (2520 W Shawnigan Lake Rd, Shawnigan Lake, BC V8H 2E1) is next weekend!

We always have so much fun rehearsing, playing games, drinking cocoa, and getting to know each other.

Camp Departure:

All Victoria-area choristers need to be at St. George's by 1:10PM on Friday, January 16th.

The Langford pickup will be The Subway at McCallum Road

Address: 1016 McCallum Rd, Victoria, BC V9B 4C6

Langford Folks: Be there by 2:00PM

Please RSVP if you need the Langford pickup!

The packing list is attached for your review. Please note we are doing our winter Games Night this time at Camp—please bring any games that you are interested in playing with your peers, and label them with your name!

I am also campaigning for our bonfire night-please bring warm clothes.

On Tuesday, we will be filling out our roommate request forms. I do my very best to get everyone one of the people they requested. Dorm rooms sleep up to six.

***If you are going on tour, camp rooming is an opportunity to see who you room well with. When we go to Toronto in March, we will be with our rooming buddy (x1) for six nights. Keep this in mind (we will do another set of Toronto roomie request forms after camp).

CAMP SCHEDULE:

Friday, January 16: Arrive by 1:10pm at St. George's (or 2:00PM for Langford) with all gear

Saturday, January 17: Camp!

Sunday, January 18: Camp!

Action Items for Camp:

1. Sign and return the attached Camp Waiver-digital or hard copy by Tuesday, Jan 13

2. RSVP for the Langford pickup, if needed

3. At Tuesday's rehearsal: Choristers fill out a Roomie Request form and give to Lindsey

4. Pack for camp with Packing List, attached

5. Get good sleep this week, and let's have a great time:)

***Are you going to Toronto? Do you want to see a Broadway Musical?***

We have the opportunity to see a Broadway musical in Toronto's theatre district. There are two choices that are running at that time: &Juliet, a Shakesperian jukebox pop musical featuring 2000s hits about Juliet from Romeo and Juliet and if she survived the story, and Shucked! The Musical, a parody original comedy about a midwest farming town plagued by a mysterious corn illness (and the plucky heroine who has to save the corn, naturally!).

Both have been very well-received, family-friendly, and nominated for (and won!) Tony Awards.

Jukebox musicals= use pre-existing songs

Original musicals= all songs are original to the show

On Tuesday, I will be taking a poll to see which show, if any, we are interested in attending in Toronto.

Check out both trailers and decide which one (if any!) you would be interested in going to!

Attending a Broadway show in Toronto is optional, and would be an add-on cost of approximately $100.

Thanks all!
