FEB 28TH-PRE-XCHANGE MEETING

Hi there VCC Toronto tour participants! 

It is just less than 4 weeks until we leave for Toronto, and I hope you're getting as excited as I am! 

SAVE THE DATE-Feb 28th 10:30AM: Pre-Exchange Zoom Meeting (Mandatory):

Save the date for a Saturday Feb 28th 10:30am-11:30am pre-exchange Zoom meeting for our exchange! 

The BCC team will be sharing some visitor information with us about Toronto, we will do the same for Victoria, and then we will have an opportunity to meet and chat (in breakout rooms, is my plan!) with the homestay families. 

Parents, this is your chance to meet the Toronto homestay parents over video, ask any questions you have, and see a little live walkthrough of their space. If at this time you would like to okay texting/emailing/direct communication between your child and their new Toronto friend, that would be the time! 

If for any reason you cannot attend, you and your chorister are responsible for self-scheduling and meeting up with your homestay chorister/family over Facetime/Zoom/Google Meet to ask any questions you may have. This pre-exchange meeting is a requirement of our grant funding. 

 will put you in touch with the homestay family if this is the case.

Homestay Families and VCC Roommates:  Timelines

Here's a timeline of homestay information. Megan (Toronto Choir Manager) had a great preliminary meeting on Sunday, and we are well on the way to finishing pairings. Thanks for all the in-depth info you provided, especially pet allergies, as some homes have furry friends! 

• Today: VCC Roomies announced in Concert Choir (in person)

• Next week: Toronto homestays confirmed and shared with families (emailed)

• February 28th, 10:30AM PST: VCC/BCC Choristers and Families meet each other, ask questions over Zoom

A Note on Luggage: 

All choristers/staff can take a checked bag to Toronto, if desired. It is part of their ticket. 23kg/50 lb weight limit.
