Hello CC families,
I hope you had a lovely past few days while we were away at camp. It was great to see you up at Camp Pringle. We had a blast as usual! Highlights for me were our foresh walk through the amazing array of fresh fall mushrooms and the wonderful fireside talent show!
Uniforms:
Returning choristers, now is a great time to take out your teal dress shirt, and see if it still fits!
If you need a new size, simply bring it in starting on Friday, and I will size your chorister for a new shirt and get it sent home (or ordered). (No charge for resizes).
If you are new to Concert Choir, we will be having fittings starting on Friday at St. George's, to size your chorister for a dress shirt. They are $25 and yours to keep.
As a reminder, this is the Concert Choir Uniform:
-Teal dress shirt, fully buttoned, sleeves at full length
-Black trousers (not leggings, not denim). Please try these on and make sure they're not too short! -If needed: plain black belts are okay.
-Black socks
-Black dress shoes (please no heels for this age group).
-Hair pulled out of your face
Listening Tracks:
As assigned in rehearsal tonight, please have your chorister review these two music learning resources and see which one works best for them.
Once they have a favourite of the two, review the following:
#4: And the Glory,
#7: Purify
#12: For Unto Us
#44: Hallelujah
Messiah learning helper sites online
Choral Bass - entirely electronic tracks, with option to highlight whichever part you need, but no actual voice/words:
http://cyberbass.org/Major_Works/Handel_GF/Handel_Messiah.htm
select the number (song, e.g. 4: And the glory of the Lord) and then voicepart (e.g. tenor).
Chord Perfect youtube site - has actual voices singing the parts, with words, but the voices can be a bit annoying sometimes:
Thank you all, and see you soon!
