Hi lovely CC members and families,
Thanks for joining us tonight! As we get busier with other activities, I appreciate the notifications in advance for rehearsal absences.
Tosca Auditions:
Kim will hold auditions for Tosca, the February 2026 POV Opera, on Tuesday, November 4th, directly after CC rehearsals from 7PM-8PM at St. John the Divine. The artistic director is seeking about a dozen singers to play townsfolk and young people. The time commitment for Tosca is much lighter than for The Little Prince.
Please see the draft rehearsal schedule attached.
Tosca is a political drama and a love story of two artists, originally set in Rome in 1800. You can read more about the show in this opera guide from the Met. Please note that the design for this production will be unique!
If you are interested in auditioning, (Kim already has your expressions of interest), we will walk over to St. John's together after CC rehearsal.
Singers, please prepare a verse and a chorus of a song to sing for your audition. (Unaccompanied).
Memorization Review:
If you couldn't make it today, here's where we stand on memorization, as of Oct 24.
The Dawn is Not Distant: Actively memorizing the first section :)
The Frost: Polish up last 2 pages—check the harmony split after unison at ending.
The Messiah: Continue to plunk away at the newer movements—note work on your own helps us move faster in rehearsal on these.
Eatnemen Vuellie: Continue to memorize.
Messe Basse: Learning solos if interested, part work
V’la L’Bon Vent: Fully memorized-review at home if there are some missed notes.
She's Like the Swallow: Fully memorized-review at home if there are some missed notes. (Sorry, this one is actually rare/out of print and I don't have a listening track!)
Upcoming:
Friday, Oct 31- Shortened Halloween rehearsal, 4-5:30 (wear costumes! there shall be candy)
Tuesday, Nov 4- Tosca auditions, SJD, 7pm-7:45 (5 min slots)
Tuesday, Nov 11-No rehearsal
Thanks everyone! Stay dry out there!
