MAY HOSTING UPDATE

Hi there tour participants!
A quick update for you on hosting! Thank you to everyone who has signed up to be a homestay host.
Our plan is for VCC choristers to be hosted in pairs in Toronto, to make things as comfortable as possible for everyone. We would like to offer the same option to the 17 Toronto children visiting us in May.
We do not have enough hosts at this point for all of the Toronto Bach Children's Chorus choristers. This leaves us short 1 bed, and also does not allow us to offer hosting in pairs.
Of the 17 VCC families who will be sending a chorister to a family homestay in Toronto, 10 of these families have agreed to host in return. Many of these VCC families have asked to host only 1 child.
If you initially said that you could host one chorister, but it would be possible to host two, please let me know.
If your family initially declined to host and is now able to participate, please let me know.
Homestay youth do not need to have their own separate bedroom. They need their own bed of some kind, and a place to keep their belongings.
Homestay youth can be in a spare room, share a room with their Toronto roommate, or share a bedroom with their VCC roommate.
All paired families will be put in touch with each other, so parents/guardians from each family can meet each other virtually and ask any questions they may have. Creating relationships with another family who lives in Toronto is beneficial for not only our choristers, but for parents and families as well. You might make a friend too!
In the spirit of reciprocity and community, please keep in mind that your child will be fed and housed by a Toronto family for 6 nights at no extra cost to you—please consider whether you can offer that family the same for their child.
Thanks for reading, and let me know if you have any updates to share about the items above.
Best wishes,
